In January 1986, the Lord led David and Anne Byford to Manhattan, Kansas, to start Faith Baptist Church. In October of that year, the church officially organized in a charter service and called David Byford to be their pastor. Pastor Byford served the Lord for 40 years at Faith Baptist Church before retiring in December of 2025.

In 2021, Nathan Herbster was called to the church as an assistant pastor and then was later called as the next lead Pastor of Faith Baptist Church. Pastor Herbster assumed that role in January of 2026 and continues to faithfully serve the Lord in the church with his wife and three children.

Faith Baptist Church has always tried to put an emphasis on the Bible. Faith has consistently tried to bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and has geared its ministries to help people grow in their Christian faith.
