Jerusalem Lock-down
What was the core issue for Jerusalem?
– All levels of leadership were not seeking the Lord. (Jeremiah 2:8)
– They were looking at the Temple as a good luck charm. (Jeremiah 7:1-5)
-The people were not seeking God. (Jeremiah 5:31)
– O God, what am I really doing? Am I really seeking the Lord or doing it my way? How serious am I living for God?
The core issue with Jerusalem is that from the leadership down through the people, they were not seeking God.
What Can We Do?
1. We have to stop being moved by what man things of us. (Jeremiah 1:8, 17)
2. We need true repentance and discernment. (Jeremiah 9:1-3)
– He did not get angry at them, he wept for them.
– He was not comfortable with the status quo.
3. We need to be prepared to suffer the consequences that come.
