BECAUSE OF THE PAST, LIVE THE PRESENT FOR THE FUTURE (1 Corinthians 15)
I. IF JESUS IS NOT RISEN FROM THE DEAD…
A. Then Christianity is miserable and pointless
1. Our preaching is in vain (1 Corinthians 15:14-15)
2. Our faith is in vain (1 Corinthians 15:14, 17-18)
No redemption (1 Corinthians 15:17)
No hope for those who have died (1 Corinthians 15:18)
B. So you should live for now (1 Corinthians 15:32)
II. SINCE JESUS IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD…
A. Then you will be resurrected (John 5:28-29)
1. From corrupt to incorrupt (1 Corinthians 15:42)
2. From dishonor to glory (1 Corinthians 15:43)
3. From weakness to power (1 Corinthians 15:43)
4. From natural to spiritual (1 Corinthians 15:44; 1 John 3:2)
B. The death will be destroyed (1 Corinthians 15:24-26; Revelation 20:14)
C. Then Christians will live with Christ Eternally (1 Corinthians 15:50-57)
1. Live with God (Revelation 21:3)
2. No tears (Revelation 21:4)
3. No death (Revelation 21:4)
4. No sorrow (Revelation 21:4)
5. No crying (Revelation 21:4)
6. No Pain (Revelation 21:4)
7. Inherit all things (Revelation 21:7)
8. Be a child of God (Revelation 21:7)
9. Experience a beautiful city (Revelation 21:10-21)
D. So live for Eternity (1 Corinthians 15:58; Romans 10:13)
1. Be steadfast
2. Be unmovable
3. Be abounding in the work of the Lord (2 Corinthians 4:17; Romans 8:18)
