Confidence in Place of Fear (Psalm 3)
I. Pray Honestly (Psalm 3:1-2)
“And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.”

II. Pray Reflectively (Psalm 3:3-4)
A. Remember Life confidence in God. (Psalm 3:3)
“And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, He will bring me again, and shew me both it, and His habitation: But if He thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I , let Him do to me as seemeth good unto Him.”
2 Samuel 15:25-16
B. Remember answers to Prayer. (Psalm 3:4; Psalm 10:17, 18:41)
“And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray Thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”

III. Commit to Confidence (Psalm 3:5-8)
A. So the normal things. (Psalm 3:5; Matthew 6:3-4)
B. Choose to not fear. (Psalm 3:6; 2 Timothy 1:7; Psalm 56:11)
C. Praise the Lord. (Psalm 3:7-8)

– Start noticing God’s goodness
– Habitually replace fear with confidence
