III. The Payment for Man’s Sin is Death

B. Definition: 2 Words
1. Wages = Payment “The wages of sin”
2. Death = Separation “The wages of sin is death”
Three types of death or separation:
a. Physical Death – The separation of the human body from the spirit. James 2:26
Example of a dead body in a casket Hebrews 9:27.
b. Spiritual Death – Separation of our spirit from God. Ephesians 2:1
Example of Adam & Eve Genesis 2:16-17
c. The Second Death – Separation from God forever in Hell! Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8
C. Illustration: Rich man in Hell. Luke 16:23
D. Application: Since the payment for sin is Hell, if you die in your sins, you will go to hell.
E. Transition: Have you ever seen yourself as a sinner on your way to hell? This is bad news. Thankfully God gives us good news.
