Wisdom and Diligence – Part 2 (Proverbs 4:20-27)
The Spheres of Life that Require Diligence
I. Diligence in Our Lives
A. Diligent to Listen to Wisdom (Proverbs 1:5; 4:13; 8:17, 33-36)
Reasons we are lazy:
*We don’t like what we hearing (Proverbs 8:36; 15:14)
*We think we have it right (Proverbs 1:22; 12:15)
*We don’t take the time (Proverbs 11:14; 15:22)
B. Diligent to Watch Over Our Heart (Proverbs 4:23; Matthew 15:18)
-Pay attention to our desires (James 1:14-15)
-Pay attention to our thoughts (Matthew 5:27-28)
-Pay attention to our senses (Psalm 101:3)
-Evaluate our actions
-Continually renew our hearts with wisdom
Reasons we are lazy:
*We focus only on the outward actions.
*We don’t pay attention to what we allow to come in.
*We underestimate the power of the world.
C. Diligent to consider our path (Proverbs 4:25-27; 21:5; 22:3)
-Plan ahead
-Stop and evaluate your decisions
-Consider the future
-Stick to the right path
Reasons we are lazy:
*We are still naive
*We love impulsive decisions
