The two parts of the Great Commission: Evangelism and Discipleship
I. Rely on the power God has given.
A. God empowers the and directs us through His Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8)
B. God gives us His Word as our message. (Acts 4:31; 1 Peter 1:23; Hebrews 4:12)
C. God changes hearts and builds His church. (Acts 2:47; Acts 11:21; John 6:44)
Unknown Author Quote:
“A Christian is not responsible for converting people, but he is responsible for contacting people. A Christian is not responsible to redeem the world, but to reach the world. We are not responsible to win the world, but we are to witness to the world. It is not our responsibility to make the Gospel acceptable, but it is our responsibility to make it available.”
II. Know the Gospel.
A. Christ’s death (Acts 2:23; Acts 3:13-15; Acts 4:10; Acts 5:30; Acts 7:52)
B. Our sin (Acts 2:38, 40; Acts 3:19, 23; Acts 5:31; Acts 7:1-53)
C. Christ’s resurrection (Acts 2:24-32; Acts 3:15, 26; Acts 5:30-31; Acts 7:56)
III. Share the Gospel.
